I sat down to-night with the intent of figuring out (at least some of) the mellotron parts in "Care of Cell 44," but that proved too formidable.

However! I did figure out most of the trumpet parts for "This Will Be Our Year."  The only trumpet part I didn't figure out is one at the very end.

Last night, I recorded a version of "Don't Cry for Me."  I simply left out the "ah"s in between the verses because I cannot hold a consistent note unless I'm singing actual words.  However, I (sort of) solved that problem this morning:  I figured out the background vocal parts (or at least some of them) on keyboard.  I just added those to what I recorded last night, and it doesn't sound too bad.

I'm still not going to upload anything for awhile yet because I'm still busy doing FAWM, and then I have to get back to my EP.  But hopefully by the summer I'll start posting some works in progress.

A few weeks ago - around the time I started learning "Remember You," I also figured out most of the chords for "Don't Cry for Me," but I was stuck in a few.  I figured those out just now.  It was F#m and C.  Yeah.

Again, I probably won't post even a rough version for a while because I'm busy with FAWM, and I don't want to mess up my note continuity project.

Yester-day, I thought I had learned all of the chords for "Remember You," but upon further review, I had a few of them wrong.  So I know the verses, but I'm stumped on a few chords in the chorus (and it doesn't help that the chorus goes pretty fast).

However, I also learned yester-day that "I Got My Mojo Working" is a simple 3-chord song - C, F, and G.  This should have been fairly obvious, as it includes Rod Argent's harmonica playing and most harmonica songs are in C.

I learned the chords for the Zombies' "Remember You" this afternoon.  I also listened to the soundtrack version from Bunny Lake is Missing.  That version is a key lower, which is interesting.

January's Cloak:

I had to do a bit of colour-correcting on this (that's what you get when your living room is yellow), but this is the twelve-string guitar I got last week.

 Part of the reason I wanted to get this is that this is the same type of guitar that Paul Atkinson had.

Yester-day, I learned the chords to "Can't Nobody Love You" along with the riff at the end.  I had some audio problems, so I couldn't really record a version until now.  Apparently, I have to have my ceiling light turned off (since it's on a dimmer) and turn my wireless internet off.

Argent's "Like Honey"

My voice doesn't suit this at all, hence the lack of any vocals.  The remaining parts sound sort of bare without either vocals or percussion.  It doesn't help any that I don't have the electric piano part exactly right.

But it's more than I knew a few months ago.

I recorded this yester-day.  It's the Zombies' "Hung up on a Dream" with all of the guitar parts that I know (and the piano part at the end played on guitar).
